About the Item

Victorian Landscape a Detailed Watercolour of Ludlow Castle, Dinham and Ludlow town. Looking towards Dinham and Ludlow Castle, Shropshire - a Landscape view Signed Watercolour on Paper, mounted on board and housed within its original gilt frame, glazed. A beautiful and unusual view of Ludlow, looking down from the Whitcliffe. The scene shows Dinham Bridge and the River, Dinham House and the assorted buildings around Dinham as well as Ludlow Castle and St. Laurences church spire is visible too. The watercolour has just been cleaned and the colours are strong and true. We can date it to roughly between 1860 and 1879, he was elected a member of the Royal Institute in 1879 and from then on signed his pictures with signature and RI. Fulleylove was apprenticed to a firm of Architects before he became a sucessful full time painter and this continued to influence his work, mainly exhibiting landscapes with an architectural them.
