At Alma Prism, we are deeply inspired by the principles of geometric abstraction. This art form, which emphasizes the use of geometric shapes and forms, allows us to explore the interplay of lines, colors, and spaces in a way that is both visually striking and intellectually stimulating. Our Artists draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including architecture, nature, and mathematics. The precise lines and angles of modern buildings, the fractal patterns found in nature and light, and the abstract beauty of mathematical theories all find their way into their canvas. Their artworks feature a harmonious blend of symmetry and asymmetry, balance and contrast, creating compositions that are as engaging as they are aesthetically pleasing. Our design process begins with a conceptual phase where our artists draft initial sketches, exploring various geometric patterns and color palettes. These designs are then refined and prepared for the next stage of creation, ensuring that each piece maintains the integrity of its abstract geometric roots. This method, which has been passed down through generations, involves meticulous hand stitching or weaving on a treadle loom only using 100% wool and natural dyes. Artisans work diligently, combining their expertise with the innovative designs provided by our artists. Some artisans even create their own designs. As a result, each piece is not only a work of art but also a celebration of cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship. Ethical Practices At Alma Prism, we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in every aspect of our operation. There is no workshop per say as all artisans work from their home thereby respecting Fair Trade principles and ensuring that all our craftsmen and women receive fair wages and work in safe, supportive conditions. We also follow the guidelines set by the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), which promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe. We are conscious of our environmental impact and strive to use sustainable materials and processes. The wool used in our artworks is sourced responsibly, and our natural dyes are environmentally friendly, reducing the ecological footprint of our production process.
