Eight blue chalices line the composition in two vertical columns, creating a strong sense of symmetry and repetition. Blue, red, and white bands radiate from the vessels. Part of artist Rachel Srinivasan's Rodeo Tarot series, the painting explores themes of emotional overwhelm and signifies weathering a loss. It also suggests that sadness and mourning are temporary parts of the human journey, leading toward bliss and material happiness represented by the Nine of Cups.

About the Artist
Artist Rachel Srinivasan paints richly symbolic works inspired by tarot, myth, and the unconscious. "I'm most content when I can create, explore, dream, and then realize my art," says Rachel. Her paintings often feature repeating forms—animals, symbols, or layered shapes—that echo across the surface like waves, inviting the viewer into a visual meditation. Rachel builds each piece slowly, beginning with drawings and colored pencil studies before applying layer upon layer of paint in her top-floor studio in Arizona. When she’s not painting, she enjoys swimming, reading, and practicing mediumship or tarot.
