The great Italian actor writes about the success of a show replicated 50 times! Indeed Vittorio Gassmann and Luigi Squarzana founded the Italian Art Theater in 1952, and until 1954, with Italian classics and novelties on the program (for example the first complete Hamlet on the Italian stage). Maria De Matteis (Florence, 1898 - Rome, 1988) Maria De Matteis is famous in the world of cinema and theater as a costume designer. The teachings of Gino Carlo Sensani and professional experiences alongside directors such as Luchino Visconti, Orson Welles, Vittorio De Sica and Mario Soldati, led her to carry out a research based on the careful analysis of the intimate nature of the characters she dresses, and to find a personal stylistic code, in accordance with the various directorial intentions. She received the “Nastro d’Argento”twice, first in 1953 for The Golden Carriage (1952) directed by Jean Renoir, then in 1961 for Mario Bonnard's Gastone (1960), while in 1957 he had obtained an Oscar nomination for War and peace (1955; War and Peace) by King Vidor. In 1971 she was awarded with the BAFTA Film Award for costumes of Sergej F. Bondarčuk's Waterloo (1970).

Ancient Document of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany Leopold II, Italy

Located in Prato, Tuscany

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. The ancient, original document of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany was framed, in recent times, by a skilled Florentine master craftsman who used a frame in precious wood and painted gold. The "Notification" was a public notice issued by the authority to bring to the attention of the population or of the institutions or persons concerned a legislative situation, an administrative act, or a declaration of intent by the authority itself. In 1838 (the year of our document) Italy, still divided into Kingdoms, States, Ducats, was pervaded by a certain form of reformism; the different dukes, princes, etc. flaunting modernism, various programs begin to develop the economy, make the administration efficient, change some laws, intervene in the territory with infrastructures, such as roads, canals, and railways. For this reason, more professionalism, experience, and technical preparation were required for all operators who had to contribute to this change. In the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the Grand Duke Leopold II...
