Memory of a Landscape Acrylic on canvas 100/70 2026 "Memory of a Landscape" is a captivating abstract expressionist painting that explores how our minds store the places we love - not in sharp details, but in vibrant layers of color, emotion, and texture. ​Structured with bold, horizontal bands, the artwork evokes the timeless beauty of open fields, dramatic skies, and distant horizons. The striking contrast between the vivid red, deep blues, and earthy greens creates a powerful visual rhythm, while the rich, engraved textures give the piece a remarkable physical presence. ​This original artwork brings a sophisticated, energetic, and deeply nostalgic atmosphere to any modern living space or office. In my work, I strive to create a personal expression of the connection between the world of art and the moments of everyday life. Summer at the Beach was born from a deep love of the sea and open landscapes, and from the desire to preserve those moments when nature and emotion transcend themselves. Dorit Shalev Fried is an Israeli artist, born in 1965, living and working in Kfar Saba, Israel. Painting and art have always been a way of life for her. Throughout history, women artists have faced the challenge of balancing family life with the world of art, and when life and art blend harmoniously, they become one complete creation. For the artist, success is measured by the ability of her work to touch, move, and bring joy to others. Color and nature are her primary sources of inspiration - captivating combinations of hues and breathtaking landscapes drive her creative process. She often photographs images that capture her attention during walks through the city or travels by the sea, desert, or fields; these photographs later become the starting point and inspiration for new artworks. Her paintings are characterized by dynamic compositions filled with energy and movement - abstract landscapes and nature-inspired works that often include figurative, sometimes even naïve, elements. Her artistic language moves between lyrical abstraction and expressive painting: the lyrical rooted in deep emotional and intuitive expression, while the expressive emphasizes raw energy, freedom of movement, and spontaneity. Through her work, she seeks to convey a sense of optimism, serenity, and harmony. As an artist, she draws inspiration from the American Abstract Expressionist movement known as the “New York School,” including Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Mark Rothko.
