About the Item

Late 20th century collection of three abstract expressionist oils on board by French artist Emmanuelle Bardet. All signed to the front and each dated 1995 and titled to the reverse. The three paintings are titled; La Cagole (The Extrovert), La Corrida (The Bull Run) and Redoutable (Formidable). Dimensions given are for each painting. Three wonderfully freely expressive and energetic paintings with intense colour and abstract geometric shapes reminiscent of the modern art genre. The artist has incorporated her own frame around the image using a paint/sand mix, very much in the style of the 1950s framing when textured or material frames were often used. These paintings are also individually available on 1st Dibs. Emmanuelle Bardet, a French artist was born on 6th June 1965 in Antibes, a town on the Côte d'Azur in the south of France between Nice and St. Tropez. Emmanuelle works in many media including; drawing, painting, photography, video and installations. In 1987 she studied art at the University of Provence in the town of Aix en Provence not far from Marseille. Then moved to Paris in 1988 to study graphic arts at ESAG-Penninghen and then 'plastic and applied' arts at the Sorbonne until 2000 when she began studying applications of art through computer software. Over the years Emmanuelle has designed textiles for Bibi Fricotin and Elisabeth Curtaud, created logos for The World Unity Association & Smec Tigris and has collaborated on numerous publications. From 1991 onwards Emmanuelle has taught both children and adults in schools, colleges and academies in Paris, Créteil, Versailles, Montrouge, Nice and Noisy-le-Grand. Her exhibitions have taken her all over France as well as abroad to Spain, Portugal and Brazil.
