About the Item

Artist Jill Keller Peters abstract color-field oil paintings communicate ideas through color. By juxtaposing pure and vivid hues that speak to each other when combined, Keller Peters choreographs rhythm and space through a poetic visual language. Her geometric abstract work is informed by keen observations of nature and years of realist landscape painting and photography. Utilizing a full-spectrum radiance of light, which is both, practical and inspirational, her traditional oil on canvas paintings delight the senses while celebrating light as the source of all energy and sustenance for life. Here is ‘Cabana'. Painted in 2021 - oil on canvas, 30 x 40 inches, by Jill Keller Peters. Meticulously painted, including the edges of the canvas that continue the design of the work around the sides of the canvas. Jill Keller Peter's works of art are a joy to live with, as each piece delights the senses and aesthetic sensibilities. Proudly presented by Andra Norris Gallery in Burlingame, CA.

By Michael Kessler

Located in Three Oaks, MI

Michael Kessler makes nature-based paintings that merge geometric elements with biomorphism. He began his art career as a landscape painter. While an undergraduate at Kutztown University Kessler received a fellowship from the Whitney Museum of American Art to study and produce art in New York City at the Whitney Independent Study Program. Michael Kessler’s work explores the continuum between gesture and geometry. Each work consists of as many as 50 micro-thin layers of translucent and transparent acrylic. Biomorphic tendrils branch to and fro, while arcs of line and color slip over and under matrices, balancing nature’s sinuous curves with the mindfulness of structure. He likens the gestural freedom in his works to a kind of painterly “tai chi” – a...

By Melinda Hackett

Located in New Orleans, LA

Hackett’s paintings defy popular convention. They are not figurative, decorative, representative, or even completely abstract. While it is hard to tie them to any one style or movement, they manage to be a part of all of them. Hackett’s work is influenced by pattern, midcentury design, art of indigenous peoples, and the art and craft movement, combined with a loose examination of the natural world. She creates a visual environment that is both recognizable yet strangely mysterious. While steeped in art history and influenced by a range of artists from Miro to Arthur Dove, Charles Burchfield, Agnes Pelton, Florine Stettheimer Sonia Delaunay and Hilma af Klimt...
