With this more lyrical and gestural piece, I want to focus on movement and its evocative power. I aim to take the viewer on a visual trip around the surface, with each brushstroke leading the way to the next. The various greens, turquoises and emerald hues, vibrant and luminous, come together with blacks and whites acting as binding agents to the whole composition. Here, the evocative appeal of the work;s formal qualities is an open door to connect to one;s own experience and memories.
About the Artist
Southern California transplant Marie-Eve is heavily influenced by the region’s natural environment and beauty. She works from a studio inside her San Diego home where she enjoys looking out the window to draw inspiration from the sunlight’s effect on the landscape. Marie-Eve’s work occupies a unique space at the intersection of fine art and stylized modern design, utilizing both representational and abstracted subjects. She juxtaposes organic forms with clean planes, thick outlines, and blocks of color that delight the eye. Using limited but carefully selected color palettes, Marie-Eve joyfully articulates concepts and elements of the natural world through a clean, modernist aesthetic.

About the Artist
Artist Terri Bell constructs highly detailed geometric fields that dance to life with engaging colors and soft edges. As a young child, Terri always wanted to paint, draw, or play imaginative games. She entered college as an art major and received important mentorship from several teachers. Unfortunately, it was at this point that Terri’s art career was put on hold. "I had to make a couple of detours along the way, and ended up changing my major to political science," she says, "which led me to work in a high stress, high profile state government position." Terri’s creative pursuits were more limited but ever-present. "Art was the balance in my life and I never gave up my dream." Through hard work and determination, she has returned to her calling as a full-time career artist. When she’s not painting, Terri enjoys cooking, container gardening, and spending time with her husband and two Yorkies.
