About the Item

LUVE is a painterly work that uses the landscape of Volyn (Ukraine) as a point of departure for a much deeper exploration of inner space. Lutsk is not depicted literally; instead, it is transformed into a metaphor of memory, female experience, and embodied perception of place. The work rejects realistic representation in favor of emotional topography — a landscape that exists between body and soul. The acrylic painting is constructed through layers that not only create visual depth but also function as traces of lived experience. These layers can be read as the structure of female memory: fragmented, tense, yet internally coherent. The wooden stretcher serves as a symbol of support — both physical and psychological — maintaining form amid constant inner movement. The space of the painting acquires corporeality: earth, water, and air interact not as elements of a landscape, but as states of being. They refer to the female body — not as an object, but as something lived through, something that feels, accumulates, and transforms experience. In LUVE, there is no notion of calm or stillness; instead, there is the tension of life continuously pulsing beneath the surface of the image. The title LUVE deliberately balances between the sound of love and its uncertainty. It is not a sentimental emotion, but a state of profound acceptance of complexity — of oneself, of place, of origin. The painting does not impose an interpretation, but creates a space for recognition — a moment in which the viewer engages with the work not as an observer, but as a participant. LUVE is a landscape that looks from within.
