Albion Vu was born in 1993 in Albania and went on to study Architecture and Design before relocating to the United States, where he has built a multidisciplinary practice spanning abstract painting, architecture, and fashion design. He lives and works between New York City and Martha's Vineyard. Vu came to painting through a desire to express what other disciplines couldn't contain. His work draws on color, texture, structure, and depth as primary forces, and his compositions reflect a sensibility shaped equally by the precision of architecture and the freedom of fine art. His most recognized body of work, the Zen Caos series, emerged from a period of personal and professional tension — repeated rejection from galleries pushing him toward a more raw and physical approach to the canvas. The technique that defines the series involves scratching through layers of paint to reveal what lies beneath, a process Vu describes as meditative, a way of staying grounded while everything felt chaotic. The results are large-scale canvases of extraordinary visual intensity, at once turbulent and controlled. In 2024 Vu exhibited at ARTNET in New York City, where his work was recognized for its ability to blend abstract expressionism with a strong narrative sensibility. His paintings are held in private collections in the United States and internationally.
