About the Item

In my world, colors aren't always reliable. I often struggle to tell where a deep blue ends and a purple begins, or where a red turns into wine, and deep yellows turn into oranges. It can feel like the world is shifting under my feet. Where the Light Stays (1-10) is about finding the clear spots in that blur. I’ve focused on the shades of blue that don’t feel 'muddy' or uncertain to me. By stripping away the colors that get lost, I’ve tried to capture the moments of total clarity. This series isn't just about a color; it’s about finding the places where the light finally makes sense and stays still. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. About Artist Damilola Ilori is a full-time studio artist, born in 1995 and brought up in Oyo State, Nigeria. His art journey started in his elementary school days. He also has a National Certificate in Education in Fine and Applied Arts from the Federal College of Education (SP), Oyo, Oyo state Nigeria. He is also inspired by the likes of Kerry James Marshall, Oluwole Omofemi, and Rosso Emerald Crimson. Damilola is a semi-realist who expresses himself with muted colors (oil paints), charcoal, and acrylic paints. Working alongside Oluwole Omofemi, His inquisitiveness in meeting new people in his society has been a source of inspiration for him because he tends to fall in love with people's eyes, which he believes are the window to the human soul. His painting has been exhibited nationally by prestigious galleries, and his works are featured in Arnheim collections, Kehinde Wiley collections, and others. In Addition, His art has been featured in both national and international publications. Damilola views his art as a means of expressing what his words can’t express, being able to interpret people’s emotions through their eyes, and helping them solve their mental issues.
