About the Item

Queen of Outer Space - Original Sci- Fi Surrealist Composition On Board Dramatic sci-fi scene by Russell R. Tripp (American, 1942-2025). This sci-fi surrealist painting blends industrial and cosmic elements, featuring a rusted geometric metal structure that dominates the foreground, evoking a fusion of machinery and ancient monoliths. A partially nude woman with a crown stands atop the plinth, her regal presence contrasting with the rigid, mechanical forms. The nearly desolate landscape, scattered human figures, and celestial bodies in the vivid blue sky enhance the painting’s futuristic yet dreamlike quality. The rich textures, intricate details, and interplay of organic and industrial forms create a hypnotic composition that explores themes of mysticism, technology, and the passage of time. Signed: "R. Tripp" lower right. Board size: 30"H x 24"W Russell Tripp (American, 1942-2025) enrolled in art classes at ten years old, beginning his path to become a professional artist from a young age. He went on to study at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco, graduating in 1964. Tripp was a prolific artist, despite the level of detail in his pieces. During the height of his career, he was selling paintings as quickly as he could produce them. Astrology Fantasy - "A Love by the Stars" - Sci-Fi Alignment of the Planets

Astrology Fantasy - "A Love by the Stars" - Sci-Fi Alignment of the Planets

By Roger Hane

Located in Miami, FL

Hane paints a dreamy nocturne - a fusion of earthy and celestial bodies with circling birds around a central vertical axis. Created on assignment for De Beers' highly published A Diamond is Forever" campaign. "A love by the stars was important. Until the right man of the wrong sign put his star on my finger. And I entered his house with my love. The artist created the painting to be the night ... so it appears a little dark in natural light. Best viewed with a top and key light to bring out the colors. For example if you bring the painting outside on a bright day.. the colors will pop. If you view inside of a dark hallway.. it will look sombre with less detail. Again, it's a nocturne. Hane painted the covers of the Collier-Macmillan editions of C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia books, as well as such Simon & Schuster publications as Carlos Castaneda's The Teachings of Don Juan and A Separate Reality. In 1963, Hane was hired to do a full-page illustration for Esquire magazine; he moved to New York in 1965. He married Elaine Miller...
