About the Artist
Artist Benjamin Xu creates cityscapes that blend Asian and European architecture with serene depictions of nature. His work combines modernist sensibilities with a touch of whimsy and surrealism. Focusing on patterns and colors, he paints every line by hand and embraces irregularities and imperfections as honest expressions of his emotions. "My paintings generally convey peace, joy, and comfort," says Benjamin. He has loved visiting art exhibitions since his teenage years, studying various styles before developing his own. He works in a bright, medium-sized studio within a community, where he spends long hours painting, thinking, and discussing ideas with friends. When not creating art, Benjamin enjoys taking time off to generate new painting ideas, traveling, and attending exhibitions.
