The work is typical of his oeuvre and includes seated figures, a fisherman, cattle and sheep. Glen Falloch is a valley in the Argyll and Bute area of Scotland. It lies between Crianlarich and Loch Lomand. The river Falloch, which is featured in the painting, flows through it before entering Loch Lomand. Sidney Richard Percy was born Sidney Richard Williams, on the 22 March, 1822 the fifth son of the artist Edward Williams Snr (1781–1855) and Ann Hildebrandt.
