Underwater painting is a new fast growing direction in contemporary art. Artwork was created underwater during scuba diving at the depth of 5 meters, underwater session 120 minutes. Artist experienced influence of underwater environment, feeling of no gravity, colorful impression and deeps into another reality. Artwork Forest is reflection of underwater environment of old pier stick out on the surface with rusty, inconspicuous sticks, and under water they have turned into a fairy forest - a forest of metal pillars overgrown with soft corals has become a home for marine life. Integration of human with nature and the adaptation of nature to new conditions. The combination of the beautiful and the ugly, nature and the human introduction into it. The rays of the sun make their way through the water and illuminate the corals making them glow from the inside. Urbanism and nature. For underwater painting Olga used oil on canvas, palette knife technique, style underwater impressionism. Olga is an artist and scuba diving instructor, she draw her inspiration from being underwater. She traveled around the world, dives in different ocean and sea for discovering new colors, shapes, emotions, to capture all varieties of our another world – underwater. She believes when she teach people scuba diving she opens the door to new planet, to new reality in another dimension. In her art she reflects these emotions what people experience being underwater. Who have tried scuba diving once become a different person, it is not possible to forget that experience. Olga’s artworks will transfer you to that moment and you will dive in your memories with all your feelings. Piece of art will be not just a beautiful decoration on your wall but it becomes part of you, part of your space. Olga Nikitina is a follower and developer of new direction in art – underwater impressionism, painting what was created underwater during scuba diving. However not all her art were created underwater - It is very complicated process, takes a lot of personal energy and resources. Big part of artworks Olga creates in her studio. 2006 - Degree of Interior Design from Ulyanovsk State University 1995-2000 - School of Fine Arts, Ulyanovsk, Russia Was published in art magazines and journals, participated in group and solo exhibitions. Artworks are in private collections all over the world: USA, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, France, Spain, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, Japan, Singapore. The main focus of my painting is underwater world. I draw my inspiration during scuba diving. Underwater I have learnt not only about the many life-forms, but the shapes and colors of everything in that realm continue to blow my mind. I feel like I am in another dimension. Scuba Divers witness the changes happening in the ocean – and can be among the first to raise the awareness of others to these growing problems. Nowadays most scuba divers have underwater cameras, to record the treasures and tragedies happening underwater – in this case evidence of the destruction of marine life. Art too, is a very effective tool and medium to communicate these messages. My art is my language. I would like to make people more human, more spiritual, to find their soul, love and kindness through the reunion with nature. So I am very happy to have opportunity to attract people by my art to the nature, in diver to find an art person and show a new reality – underwater world to art person. I believe that with my paintings more people will fall in love with the world of the sea, and become involved in the protection of our oceans for future generations to enjoy and wonder at. In my underwater art I use palette knife, it gives an incredible deep texture and makes the artwork alive. Impasto painting is one of the palette knife art style. I work in artstyles such as impressionism, abstract, expressionism, fine art, conceptual and sometimes realism. I work with acrylic painting, mixedmedia, texture paste however oil painting is my favorite.
