Artist Bio: Alexander Shandor was born in 1981 in Vinohradiv, a historic Transcarpathian city in western Ukraine. His artistic practice is deeply connected to the cultural heritage and distinctive landscapes of the Transcarpathian region. Throughout his career, Shandor has participated in numerous Ukrainian and international exhibitions and plein air sessions, establishing a presence among contemporary artists from the region. His works are held in private collections and galleries in Ukraine and abroad, reflecting growing international appreciation for his artistic vision. In 2007, Shandor became a member of the Creative People's Association “Verkhovyna Artist,” and in 2012 he joined the Youth Union “Transcarpathian Artists.” Beyond his studio practice, he has actively supported charitable initiatives, participating in exhibitions in Uzhhorod in 2011 and 2015 and donating artworks to support children with special needs through charitable projects in Kyiv in 2014 and 2016. Shandor's career reflects a commitment not only to painting and artistic development but also to preserving the cultural identity of Transcarpathia and contributing to the wider community through art.
