About the Item

Ancient Blessing, 2006 Roseta Santiago Oil on Canvas Signed Middle Left 42 x 48 inches 43 x 50 inches with frame Roseta Santiago was born and raised in Washington D.C. She started her career as an exhibit and graphic designer. In 1976 Santiago moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she expanded her design business to include theme restaurant and nightclub design/build and marketing. She soon enjoyed a successful career that included travel throughout the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. In 1994 The Bass Pro Stores retained Santiago to paint the wildlife murals for their stores. These projects included life size murals depicting fishing, hunting and camping scenes including the indigenous foliage and wildlife. After completion of 23 stores she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and established a home and studio. Her lifetime dream to paint her vision in oil paintings became a reality. Mystery and Light engulf the unique Western and Asian artifacts that are the subjects of her current body of work. Signed 'Santiago,' her family name, Roseta Santiago's paintings evoke a story within the viewer of artifacts, ancient experience, and thought provoking circumstance, a world in the past, exotic lands and ordinary yet extraordinary objects. She tells a story of the beauty and integrity surrounding each of her subjects. Roseta's work is influenced by Hovsef Pushman, Emil Carlsen and John Singer Sargent. Her style is representative and impressionistic. Her work is recognized and collected internationally. She has successfully exhibited for the past three years at The Eiteljorg Museum of Western and American Indian Art in Indianapolis; the Taos Museum-Fechin House in Taos, New Mexico; Settler's West Miniatures Show/ Tucson, Arizona; "Cowgirl Up"/ Desert Caballeros Museum Show/ Wickenberg, Arizona; as well as The COORS WESTERN Show in Denver. She paints every day.
