About the Item

The big bird is a painting. I painted it. It's oil on canvas. I mounted it on plywood and silhouetted it with a jigsaw. I took the silhouetted bird with me on the subway. We each had our own seat on the trip Brooklyn to the Bronx The station has changed. In a google stock image photo, you can see the geniuses have destroyed the beautiful character of the station. The early 20th-century signage and lighting fixtures have been changed by soulless and cheap looking replacements. Robert Funk is a pioneer of toy photography, doll photography, miniature photography and staged photography. He also photographs his own paintings. He doesn’t take photographs he creates photographs and has works dating from 1973. He was widely published in the 1970's and early 1980's. Signed Dated 3/15, Printed later, Unframed, another size available, Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
