The artwork represents a magician, the artwork is depicted skillfully through strong lines in a well-balanced composition with harmonious colors.
Gaetano Pompa was born in 1933 in Forenza. After the war, he moved with his family to Rome. From 1958 to 1961, he lived in Munich, where he also carried out an intense artistic activity as a musician. When he returned to Italy, he spent most of his life in Rome. He passed away in Orbetello in 1998.

Gaetano Pompa
Gaetano Pompa was an Italian artist who began his artistic career after the war conflict in Rome, where he moved with his family to start his studies and to paint and engrave. From 1958–61, he lived in the Schwabing district of Munich, carrying out an intense artistic activity and participating with great passion in the musical life of the Bavarian city. Back in Italy, he married Dorothea Leendertz, known in Germany, with whom he had five children. Since then Pompe lived and operated in Rome and from 1970 between Ansedonia and Orbetello.
