About the Item

New York has one of the best skylines in the world - wherever you look there is an iconic landmark or view. The Big Apple is the perfect muse for my art. This is such a classic Manhattan scene: skycrapers towering over Central Park and its famous ice rink. This piece is created from an original photograph and digitally coloured by hand, including all the people enjoying the skating, some more than others. Printing the image on a slim sheet of brushed aluminium gives it an etched appearance, picking out the lovely details of the buildings and constrasting nicely with the bright colours. Central Park Ice Rink is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it easy to hang. Michael Wallner has original artworks for sale with Wychwood Art both in their art gallery and online. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance.
