About the Item

"Plus Value" is a lithograph created by German artist Klaus Geissler in 1967. This artwork was part of the sixth and final edition of The Situationist Times, an international periodical edited by Jacqueline de Jong between 1962 and 1967. The sixth issue, known as the "International Parisian Edition," featured 33 original lithographs by various artists, including Geissler. These lithographs were printed in four colors and were integral to the publication's exploration of avant-garde art and Situationist theory. The edition size was approximately 2,500 copies. "Plus Value" exemplifies the collaborative and experimental spirit of the Situationist movement, which sought to critique and subvert traditional art forms and societal structures. The lithograph reflects Geissler's engagement with the socio-political themes prevalent during the 1960s, aligning with the publication's aim to merge artistic expression with revolutionary ideas.
