Selecting animals as team symbols has historically drawn on associations of pride, bravery, and physical strength. In Climate Clash, however, the animal figure is reframed as an emblem of ecological resilience—standing not for competitive dominance, but for collective action in the face of climate crisis. The work reflects Fairey’s long-standing commitment to environmental advocacy, aligning graphic boldness with urgent messaging. As the third collaborative project between Fairey and Reyes, Climate Clash represents the continued evolution of a creative dialogue rooted in activism and shared values. Reyes has acknowledged the influence of their twelve-year friendship, emphasizing how artistic exchange, political engagement, and mentorship have informed the collaboration.
