Contemporary ceramic figurative sculpture inspired by the archetype of the Viking, combining mythic presence and expressive vertical form. Extravagant Viking belongs to the series Extravagantes, in which identity is approached as a staged and constructed condition. The sculpture presents a vertically elongated figure with raised arms and a subtly widened base that ensures stability while preserving a sense of upward tension. The horn-like extensions emerging from the head evoke the symbolic attributes associated with the Viking archetype, transforming the figure into a myth-inflected presence rather than a literal depiction. The ceramic surface is articulated through layered glazes in greenish and earthy tonalities, punctuated by darker areas that emphasize depth and structural modeling. The hand-built process remains visible in the slight irregularities of contour and texture, reinforcing the material authenticity of the work.
