Elegant urn-shaped silver trophy cup and cover in the restrained and graceful neoclassical Adam style with long sweeping handles decorated with a fine bead decoration. Two bands of bead decoration surround the body and the spreading silver base is similarly adorned. The silver trophy's cover follows similar sweeping lines and is surmounted with an urn-shaped finial and silver beading. Made in the early 20th century by one of the most celebrated silversmiths, Sebastian Garrard, this trophy has been crafted in a good quality gauge of silver and is perfect for engraving. The trophy could be fitted with a wooden plinth if required. The neoclassical motifs seen in this trophy, reflect the classical architectural designs of the Greek and Roman empires. Classical designs included columns, pediments, Greek key patterns, acanthus leaves, urns and festoons of fruit and flowers. A magnificent, fine impressive pair of antique George IV English cast sterling silver candlesticks made by Robert Garrard II; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent antique George IV cast silver candlesticks, in sterling standard, have a baluster shaped form with a waisted knopped stem onto a shaped base. The bulbous capitals are embellished floral and foliate decoration accented with interlacing ivy vines, all on a matte background. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked detachable sconces ornamented scrolling leaf and floral ornamentation to the shaped rim in addition to a matte texture and plain scalloped decorated border. The upper portion of each column is encompassed with a magnificent eagle design peering around the side of a grotesque lion style mask. The body of this antique cup is encircled with two impressive bands of applied decoration accented with three sets of applied two tier rivet designs, all in the Arts and Crafts style. This impressive cup is fitted with three C shaped handles incorporating a knop to the centre of each handpiece, encircled with further rivet designs.
