Serena Confalonieri Coffee and Cocktail Tables

Yoko collection designed by Serena Confalo- nieri for Medulum consists of 3 wooden coffee tables. The pieces are characterized by the repetition of trian- gular elements, which visually refer to the Japanese art of origami. This recourse to geometric repetition is further high- lighted through the creation of an embossed linear texture which, on the surface, generates further ge- ometries, while, on the legs, it leads to different front and back of the surface, just like a sheet of paper. Various heights and sizes allow this coffee table collection to be placed both inside private homes, living and sleeping areas, and in public and hospitality facilities. The Yoko coffee tables...

Elegant like jewellery, the Ring coffee tables are inspired by raw cuts of precious stones prior to being mounted into rings. The choice of materials is aimed to emphasise this inspiration behind the collection. The metal base structures are available in several variants each of which corresponds to a geometric form. Like in jewellery design, the glass tops in transparent or light colours are literally set onto the base structures. Serena is an indipendent designer and art director based in Milano. She works on product, graphic and textile design projects and collaborates with many italian and international companies. Her works are placed in-between product and graphic design: an accurate research on the surfaces is always present in her projects. After a Master Degree in Interior Design, she started her career working in many architecture and design practices in Milano, Barcelona and Berlin, and collaborating with the Interior Design Faculty of Politecnico di Milano as assistant professor. In 2013 she makes her debut at Milano Design Week with her Flamingo rug...
