About the Item

This Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Fall 1987 runway coat has a loose, robe-like cut with an easy, oversized fit. It’s made from a camel-brown wool with a windowpane check and fastens with simple buttons and a self-tie belt at the waist. The large shawl collar, sleeve cuffs, and interior are done in leopard print, which becomes the exterior when worn reversed. Fully reversible, the coat can be worn either with the checked wool facing out or with the leopard side exposed. Dropped shoulders and wide sleeves give it a relaxed drape, keeping the overall feel practical and graphic. No size is labeled. This coat fits a variety of sizes as the cut is very oversized. Coat was not pinned on the size 2 mannequin. Approximate measurements: drop shoulder 25.5", bust 23" (doubled 46"), hip width 23" (doubled 46") sleeve length from dropped shoulder (uncuffed) 21.5", and overall length from center back to hem (without collar) 45". *Please note the wool side is intentionally a bit longer than the leopard side and shows a small amount at hem. This is how the coat was designed. Button closure. Fabric content: 80% wool and 20% nylon with 68% acrylic and 32% cotton (leopard fabric). Hidden pockets at hips (on wool side). Made in France. Very good condition.
