About the Item

Circa 1900 - 1920 Ottoman Empire Turkey A Nice striped silk and cotton satin Kaftan or house coat called a Bayadere dating from the early 20th century. Straight masculine cut (also suitable for a woman) with a wide integrated belt sewn on the hips and slit on the sides. Brocaded silk ribbon around the edge and unbleached cotton lining. Beautiful polychromy of the brocaded satin with stripes, orange, purple, white and yellow. No damage and wearable today. Very good condition of colour and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent size 38. Height 125 cm, shoulders 39 cm, chest 100 cm, sleeves 60 cm, hips 110 cm.
