About the Item

Made in Italy, this Ann Balon wedding dress was designed in the 1980s. Today, this four-decade strong brand sells Italian-made occasion wear and bridal wear from its Manchester shop. If you’re going to do an 1980s wedding dress this vintage piece is the way to do it. Ticking the box of most of the era’s most decadent design details, it showcases flamboyant leg o’ mutton sleeves, all-over ruching and decadent ruffles. The body is tailored from a white, ruched stretch-jersey woven with a pattern of jagged geometric shapes. The front of the dress has a V-neckline and is embroidered with glittering iridescent embroidery and white satin appliqué. Crafted from billowing sheer lace and ruched white stretch-jersey, the long-sleeves have a theatrical silhouette. The skirt adds even more drama to this gown, formed from cascading, wave-like layers of ruffles, the edges of which are wired to hold their shape. This dress is unlined. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws. The composition label reads 100% Rayon. It has no size label so please check our measurements below as the fabric has little stretch.
