About the Item

Striking cocktail dress of silk marquisette and lace. Undulating graduated panels of wavy lace circle the full skirt of the dress which is backed in a stiff crinoline. The bodice is overlaid in marquisette as well with doubled layers forming pattern illusions across the neckline and down back. Beneath the stiffened crinoline is a rayon lining. Beautiful quality workmanship probably by a fine New York manufacturer of the period. Side zip entry. 1950's USA. Excellent condition. Shoulder to waist 15". Waist to hem 33". Bust 33". Waist 25". Hip 39". Hem sweep 125".
