This early 2000s Escada blazer is a fabulous example of the house’s exuberant approach to color and feminine tailoring. Crafted from a textured cotton, rayon and silk blend, the jacket features a pale pink and ivory tweed woven with multicolor accents of blue, turquoise, green, yellow, fuchsia and purple.
One of its best details is the vibrant floral contrast lining, rendered in saturated shades of pink, fuchsia, turquoise, blue, orange, green and purple. The lining was clearly designed to be seen and gives the jacket multiple styling personalities.
Wear the sleeves full length for a classic tailored look, turn the cuffs outward to reveal the floral lining, or scrunch the sleeves up toward the elbows for a more relaxed, contemporary silhouette. The collar can be worn traditionally or popped up to expose the floral underside, allowing you to dramatically change the look of the jacket without adding a thing.
The front is finished with three pale pink Escada bluebell-embossed buttons with gold-tone detailing. Notched lapels, softly structured shoulders and shaping through the waist create the polished, feminine silhouette associated with Escada tailoring of the period.
This is an especially versatile jacket for styling. Pair it with white or cream trousers and strappy heels for a polished spring or summer look; wear it with jeans and the sleeves pushed up for something more casual; or pick up one of the colors in the tweed with turquoise, cobalt blue, fuchsia or green trousers, shoes or a handbag. It would also look fantastic over a simple silk camisole or fitted dress for a luncheon, cocktail event, resort dinner or daytime occasion.
