About the Item

Fabulous white caviar beaded evening bag with an over-the-top jewel set frame by Hobe. The bag is hand sewn with tiny white 'caviar' glass beads. The top of the bag is pleated at the front & back, which gives a nice finished edge where it is attached to the frame. The gold metal frame looks like the front of a tiara done in large loops, there are hand bezel set crystals in clear, pale green & oval faceted amber glass stones. There are also large & medium round dome top stones that resemble moon stones. Last, but not least, there are amber coloured stones, one on each side where the hinge opens! This is a rare-to-find bag, perfect for your collection. The interior of the bag is lined in ivory satin, there are pockets for a comb & mirror, with a slot for a lipstick and a compact. Enough room inside for a small wallet. The lining is in very good condition with some light narrow red (probably lipstick) marks. From The 1930s-40s. Measurements are in inches: 9 1/2 at the widest side to side 4 high bag only 7 3/4 high bag & frame 8 1/2 wide frame at base 2 1/4 high frame at the top 1 1/2 deep
