Fondée en Toscane par Cosimo Terzani et Barbara Bertocci en 2010, l'entreprise italienne de mobilier et d'éclairage Il Pezzo Mancante crée à la main des lustres, des pièces de coffret, des appliques et d'autres œuvres qui sont réputées dans le monde entier pour leur élégance intemporelle. Les fondateurs de la marque apportent leur passion et leur intelligence au monde du design et à la culture artisanale de la Toscane.
Avec des œuvres qui intègrent de manière séduisante le bois massif, les moulages en laiton, le cristal soufflé à la main et le marbre, Il Pezzo Mancante's Terzani et Bertocci établissent un lien intime avec les matériaux naturels et artificiels de luxe, créant ainsi des œuvres d'art fonctionnelles et agréables à l'œil. Le respect des fondateurs pour le bois en tant que matériau vivant, leur quête minutieuse de marbre provenant des meilleures carrières de Carrare et leur travail avec des matériaux naturels pour façonner les formes finales de leurs designs sont fondamentaux pour Il Pezzo Mancante. Cette approche pratique est l'une des parties les plus gratifiantes du processus de production.
Les designs de l'entreprise pour l'éclairage comprennent les lustres, les appliques murales, les appliques et les lampadaires de la célèbre collection Il Pezzo 3 , tandis que Il Pezzo Mancante associe les techniques traditionnelles à la technologie de précision assistée par ordinateur pour transformer des matériaux bruts et vivants en de spectaculaires tables de salle à manger, tables consoles, commodes et credenzas.
Le nom de la société se traduit par "la pièce manquante" - une référence au voyage des fondateurs vers le prochain plateau en matière de design ainsi qu'à la manière distinctive dont chaque pièce est identifiée. Un cylindre en laiton gravé du numéro de série d'une pièce donnée est dissimulé dans chaque luminaire ou meuble afin de garantir que chaque pièce d'Il Pezzo Mancante est authentique et unique.
