Antique late-19th Century very rare and highly decorative Italian solid silver three piece tea set by G. Accarisi. Each piece profusely chased with scrolling foliage and fantastical ornament, mounted with sculptural handles and finials in the form of grotesque, mythological, and winged creatures. Hallmarked to each piece "G ACCARISI, FIRENZE". G. Accarisi of Florence was part of the rich late 19th Century Italian silversmithing tradition that catered to a taste for highly ornamental, historically inspired luxury objects. Working in Firenze, a city long associated with Renaissance artistry and fine metalwork, Accarisi appears to have produced pieces in the historicist style popular around 1890, when Italian makers often revived Renaissance and Baroque forms for an international clientele. Objects attributed to G. Accarisi are especially notable for their exuberant sculptural quality, intricate chased decoration, and imaginative use of mythological or grotesque motifs, qualities that align closely with the period's fascination with craftsmanship, drama, and display. In that sense, Accarisi's work reflects both Florentine artistic heritage and the broader 19th Century European market for richly worked silver intended as much for admiration as for use.
