About the Item

A handsome lacquered tea set from Japan, circa 1920s, featuring a traditional Japanese lacquerware style, known as Urushi, with a deep red color and hand-painted gold designs, prized for its durability and beautiful, transparent glaze. Includes two rectangular serving trays - large and small - with Japonisme raised pattern designs and raised edges, a tea pot with removable fitted lid and handle, cream pot with handle, sugar pot with fitted lid and opposing handles, and six tea cups with saucers.
