About the Item

Hagiwara Hideo - Thirty-six Fujis: Light and Dark, Woodblock print, Framed Sheet size: 535 (W) x 400 (H) [mm] Framed: 560 x 460 mm, 2 kg Hideo Hagiwara is an oil painter, but towards the end of his life he started working on a series of woodblock prints, "Thirty-six Fujis," with Mt. Fuji as the subject. "Thirty-six Fujis" was inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji." This work is reminiscent of Hokusai's "Oshu Fujimihara," in which Mt. Fuji is seen through a barrel. The work uses mica (kira) and you can see that the snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji was created using "kimekomi (air printing) * a technique for creating unevenness in the paper." In addition, he uses techniques such as fixing sawdust to the woodblock and applying varnish to make the paint uneven. [Hideo Hagiwara] autograph, edition, and title are also handwritten. You can also see the "hideo.h" embossed stamp. Framed Discoloration is seen ▲▲ Notes ▲▲ *In order to build a relationship of trust with our customers, please be sure to contact us via the inquiry form before purchasing.
