About the Item

This is a carved stone slab, probably made in China. What is represented is probably a dragon. A dragon with a brave face is carved with two raised eyebrows. It is thought that it was originally a cut-out part of a stone pillar from a temple or a stone lantern. This item has about three vertical cracks, but this was after the cracked item was re-glued. (This is the area circled in red in the photo.) I believe that the stone lantern was broken due to an earthquake or other disaster and was repaired. The exact era is unknown, but it is believed to be from before the 20th century. Dragon originally refers to a mythical divine beast, but it also refers to an outstanding person, such as a hero or an outstanding person. In addition, in Asia, including ancient China, it has been used as a symbol of the nation and monarch, and is a symbol of high status. Please try displaying such a powerful and dignified dragon. It can stand on its own, but a wooden stand for display is also included. I've never seen anything like this before, so it's quite a rare item. it's recommended. Weight: 10.25kg
