About the Item

These substantial and opulent chenets are cast in exquisite detail. The chenets are flanked by fierce lions, adorned with laughing satyr masks and festooned with climbing curls of acanthus foliage. This decorative motif is archetypical of the early Georgian style. The acme of each piece is a glorious torqued gadroon urn which can double as a candle holder. These chenets artfully blend the functional with the fantastic. The hearth makes the home and chenets make the hearth. Well crafted chenets are an indispensable aspect of any well-appointed home.
