About the Item

A rare and sculptural early 19th-century French boiserie panel, salvaged from a historic chateau in the countryside. Designed to fit into a curved corner, this wooden architectural fragment retains its original pale blue paint, a quintessential hue of French decorative interiors. The panel’s wood surface is adorned with intricate plastework at the center, featuring classical motifs that add refinement and rhythm to its tall, slender form. Ideal for incorporating into a custom design project or displaying as a standalone sculptural element, it brings timeless texture and storied elegance to any space. Found in France, early 19th century. Made of paneled wood with three-dimensional decorative elements made from plaster. The original pale blue paint is worn in areas. Wear consistent with age and use, wonderful character and patina, no structural damage. Approximately 36.5” W x 99.5” H x .75” D.
