About the Item

Large ceramic bowl in polychrome glazes with metallic luster characteristic of the creations of Zauli during the mid-60s, with a strong far eastern inspiration. Carlo Zauli (b.1926-d.2002) is one of the most striking artists of the second half of the 20th century in Italy. He contributed to revitalise Italian ceramics, to carry it internationally and to release it from its purely useful or decorative functions. His creations earned the artist of prestigious official prizes, notably in Faenza by three times in 1953, 1958 and 1962. Additional pictures and infos can be provided on simple request.
