About the Item

Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown ruby red, controlled bubbles and silver flecks Italian art glass decorative surface bowl. Attributed to designer Giulio Radi for the A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese) company, circa 1950s. The bowl is completely covered in heavy silver leaf. The controlled bubbles or "Bullicante" technique is not too obvious, but the silver leaf gathers around them so you can make them out. On the outside surface you can see the sculptural element of the bowl, which is like a rock formation, with many crevices and rounded areas. Would make a great display piece on any dresser, coffee table or credenza. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures 7" long x 6 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" high.
