About the Item

A Swedish original painted blue pine wood box from the countryside of Sweden. Based on the flower decoration style, probably from Centre-North Sweden. The Rococo-period in the Folk Art collectibles is meaning late 18th Century or early 19th Century and this Scandinavian folk art box retains its original paint and has amazing patina. We have cleaned the box and have kept the very appealing original wear from hundreds of years of usage. The box was most likely used as a letter box for important papers and keepsakes, or was used as a jewelry box.
