About the Item

This beautiful box has a lot going on for it. Luscious green onyx is the primary material. Delicate cast gilt bronze filigree on the top covers a colorful enameled cameo of a woman. The top and bottom borders are finished off in gilt bronze as well. We believe it is Austrian and certainly done around the turn of the 19th century. Even when opening the box the green onyx and gilt bronze work are finished. A rare and exceptional box for any use one can think of.
