About the Item

A fine antique English solid sterling silver box with all over repousse decoration, the domed lid incorporating a vacant cartouche in the centre. The hinged lid is in perfect working order and once opened, reveals a lavishly gilded interior. The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1916 together with the makers mark for Arthur Willmore Pennington. Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use measuring 2 1/4" in diameter x 2 1/4" tall and weighing 53.6 Grams / 1.72 Troy Ounces.
