An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver trinket/table snuff box modelled in the form of a banana; an addition to our diverse silverware collection This exceptional and rare antique sterling silver box has been realistically modelled in the form of a banana. The surface of this silver snuff/trinket box has a satin finish and bears features reflecting the curvilinear nature of the banana's peel. This antique sterling silver banana box is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked cover with a plain thumbpiece to the anterior edge; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the box. The interior of this novelty silver box bears the original gilding. The end of the box bears the retailer's mark Hamilton & Co, Calcutta' and the registration number 'RD 84815'. By Virtue of its Size this unusual and versatile box could be used for a multitude of functions. Condition This Victorian sterling silver banana box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the base and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique silverware.
