About the Item

The "Perles" candlesticks reveal all the poetry that André Dubreuil knew how to breathe into metal. Nicknamed the Poet of Iron, he transformed a raw, rigid material into forms that seem airy, almost vegetal. In the "Perles" candlesticks, steel becomes airy, punctuated with glass beads that catch the light like suspended droplets. Each piece becomes a small theater of reflections, where light enters into dialogue with the structure that surrounds it. Within this model lies Dubreuil’s signature duality: delicate, organic forms combined with a sense of protective armor. This tension between fragility and strength, transparency and opacity, perfectly expresses Dubreuil’s vision: that of a decorative object transcending its function to become a sculpture in its own right, serving a deeply poetic sensibility.
