Pair of French Louis XVI Style Cut-Crystal and Gilt-Metal Candelabra, Circa 1880

Pair of French Louis XVI Style Cut-Crystal and Gilt-Metal Candelabra, Circa 1880

Located in Atlanta, GA

The combination of clear cut glass, dark metal pinning, and warm gilt-metal mounts follows the historic French taste for ormolu-mounted crystal lighting, recalling the refinement of late 18th century neoclassical candelabra while incorporating the more theatrical sparkle favored in the late 19th century. The floral and foliate arms, scalloped crystal bases, cut-glass finials, and profusion of suspended prisms make the pair especially suitable for use as mantel candelabra...
