About the Item

A sculptural Brutalist iron candleholder composed as a vertical architectural structure. The composition consists of stacked, heavy iron elements placed on top of one another in a carefully balanced arrangement, emphasizing mass, rhythm, and verticality. Signed on the base plate. The raw surface treatment and direct execution place the object firmly within a Brutalist aesthetic, where material honesty, structure, and weight are given clear precedence over ornament. The surface bears traces of the making process, reinforcing its sculptural and architectural character. While a candle may be placed within the structure to illuminate the form from within, this should be regarded as a secondary function. The object is primarily conceived as a freestanding sculptural work with a strong spatial presence, intended to be experienced as an autonomous object. Signed on the underside. Signature not further attributed.
