About the Item

A very fine and impressively large pair of Neoclassical Revival period sterling silver candlesticks, showing tapering columns issuing from cavetto shaped bases decorated with embossed neoclassical motifs of swags, ribbons & tassels, rising to stylized Corinthian capitals retaining their original detachable bobeches / drip-pans. Both bases are weighted for stability, with the outer edge of their bases bearing impressed London hallmarks with date letter for 1901 together with makers marks for noted British silversmiths, Thomas Bradbury & Sons. The undersides of both bases and the drip pans also bearing the same hallmarks.
