About the Item

A characterful pair of late-20th-century figurative candleholders cast in iron and retaining their original painted finish. Each standing figure is modeled in a patterned cap, fitted jacket, pale trousers, and green sash while holding two cup-form candle sockets, creating a balanced four-light arrangement when displayed together. The dark metal and time-softened palette give the pair considerably more presence than conventional candlesticks. Place them at opposite ends of a dining-room sideboard, across a library mantel, or on a Palm Beach console layered with old books, rattan, and blue-and-white porcelain. Dimensions: 4ʺ W × 3ʺ D × 10.5ʺ H each Materials: Painted cast iron Style/Era: Palm Beach eclectic, Coastal and English Country; late 20th century Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor paint wear and surface variation consistent with age Sold As: A matched pair Notable Features: Two candle cups per figure, hand-painted details, substantial round bases, and sculptural freestanding form
