About the Item

This French 19th Century banjo shaped case clock is an eye-catching piece in any space. Topped by a smartly carved cornice above the dial face door. Supported by an intricate brass repousse frontage, the dial face sports hand painted Roman numerals. . Shapely and well ornamented, the frame features a faux bois finish and floral designs throughout. The finish is worn in all the perfect places giving it a fantastic patina. This weight-driven clock is in working order, provided it is regularly wound. One crank-key included. Because of how particular longcase clocks are, you will want to have a professional come and make sure it’s level and show you how to properly wind it. Standing just under 8’ tall, it will add great presence to interiors with extra-high ceilings. Make sure to view the detailed images to get a closer look. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
